About iP Solutions

iP Solutions’ founders brought their extensive experience in Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), Electronic Design Automation (EDA), and Embedded Systems development together to form a consultancy company that offers unsurpassed service and products to meet the most demanding technology development, product design, and consulting projects.

History

iP solutions formed in 1997 to provide IP to the EDA market.  By 1999, iP Solutions was specializing in embedded Internet IP and design services.  The embedded Internet expertise was leveraged into the general remote data acquisition and control markets.

In 2002, iP Solutions was asked to bring their past expertise in device test to solve some high-speed high-current switching problems in the test environment.  iP Solutions developed several high di/dt load-board regulator modules as part of the solution.  The customer, a manufacturer of high-speed network processors and content-addressable memories (CAM), contracted iP Solutions’ consulting and design services for their customer reference boards.

In 2005, iP Solutions partnered with several other corporations to form Iris Connection, Inc., which provided remote water system management solutions for small public water systems.  Eventually, Iris Connection moved into remote irrigation pump management and environmental monitoring systems for agriculture.  iP Solutions provided all the intellectual content and technical service for Iris Connection.

iP Solutions’ work in agricultural irrigation and public water pump controls led to work on the Water-Energy NexusGary Marks of iP Solutions authored several papers on electrical energy consumption, energy efficiency and demand response in California industrial, agricultural, and water applications.  iP Solutions is a member of OpenADR Alliance.

Most recently iP Solutions developed several embedded Linux solutions for clients, including a system for detecting trace chemical and radiation threats.

As part of iP Solutions continued efforts in remote data acquisition and controls, they are collaborating with UC Davis on a system is used for crop frost protection.
